Grower Technology Licensing
Growers who wish to grow plants from seed containing Monsanto Technologies must complete a Monsanto Technology / Stewardship Agreement (MTSA). Authorized Seed Dealers will have MTSA forms on hand or can gain access to the MTSA through www.corn-states.com or www.farmsource.com. Once completed and signed by the Grower, the License Status becomes valid if and when Monsanto issues the License from their home office in St. Louis, Missouri.
A valid License status is required to purchase trait seed and should be verified each selling season. The MTSA provides growers with access to all Monsanto traits and automatically enrolls growers in the Roundup Rewards program. Many local or regional programs require a valid License status as well.
A valuable tool that accompanies a valid License is the Technology Use Guide (TUG). The TUG helps to ensure compliance with the MTSA, providing great information, guidance, and options for all four pillars of trait stewardship. The full version .pdf file of the TUG is available here: Technology Use Guide
